Transportation Legislation

Under the Motor Vehicle Act, farmers have a number of rules and regulations to comply with when traveling on public roads. The Motor Vehicle Regulations can be found here.

A Transportation Guidelines for Nova Scotia Farmers has been developed for your convenience and personal use.  This booklet is not a substitute for the actual legislation, when accuracy is critical, please consult legislation.

The Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal provides this booklet as a public service. It was produced with help from the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture, Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations, and the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture.
