Farm Family Support Line Update

Farm Safety Nova Scotia understands the importance of easy and efficient access to the assistance you need, especially when it comes to your mental well-being. That’s why we’re excited to share an important update with you.

Change is on the Horizon

On November 1st, 2023 we’ll be implementing a significant improvement to our existing Farm Family Support Line, which means the telephone number will be changing. This switchover is all about making support more accessible and straightforward for you.

What’s Changing?

We’re introducing a new designated phone line with a customized greeting through Telus Health. This upgrade addresses past concerns and ensures you can connect with the right support services quickly and without any confusion.  Now, when you call, Telus will be able to immediately identify that you are calling to access the Farm Family Support Line as opposed to a more general Employee Assistance Program and greet you accordingly.

Empowering You with Telus Health One

Starting today, you’ll also gain access to the Telus Health One app and website. This helpful tool allows you to access all the benefits of the support line with just a tap of your finger, providing even more convenience and support.

You will now have access both by phone and online to the following:

  • Confidential support, including counseling, that can help you find solutions to the challenges you face.
  • Telus Health One: an online well-being platform to access self-guided support, articles, resources, and more.
  • Work/life solutions including family support services, legal and financial support, child and elder care, nutritional support and more.

Why This Matters

This change aligns with the We Talk. We Grow. initiative’s commitment to providing top-quality and accessible mental health support for our farming community. We understand the unique challenges you face, and we’re here to make sure you get the help you need, when you need it.

Stay Informed

We’ll keep you updated as we progress with these changes. We understand that transitions like this can raise questions, and we’re here to provide answers and support every step of the way. Your understanding and support are greatly appreciated as we work diligently to improve accessibility and support for our community. Together, we can make positive changes that matter. #WeTalkWeGrow
