Carolyn Van Den Heuvel, P.Ag.
Carolyn is the Manager of Farm Safety Nova Scotia. Carolyn grew up in the agriculture industry, on a beef farm in Antigonish and continued her passion for agriculture studying at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Carolyn worked for a number of dairy farms before beginning her career in farm safety.
Carolyn worked for the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association where she managed the Canada FarmSafe Plan Pilot Project before beginning with the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture as Coordinator of Farm Safety Nova Scotia. Carolyn currently sits on the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association Board of Directors as well as the Safety Services Nova Scotia Board of Directors.
Seonaid MacDonell, P.Ag.
Member Services Coordinator
Seonaid is the new Member Services Coordinator. A new staff position for FSNS, the Member Services Coordinator is a one-year term position and is responsible for coordinating training, workshops, and member communications.
Seonaid grew up on a hobby farm in Enfield and developed a love and interest for agriculture through the 4-H program. She then continued her passion for agriculture at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College graduating with a degree in Animal Science in 2011. With a desire to explore, Seonaid travelled to Australia and Ireland where she worked on a number of dairy farms, gaining experience in agriculture from a more global perspective. Returning to Nova Scotia in 2016, Seonaid continued her learning, obtaining a Master’s degree in Resource and Environmental Management from Dalhousie University.
