Every person driving or operating a motor vehicle on a highway or any public road must drive in a careful and safe manner. As a farm equipment operator and owner, you are responsible for ensuring that your equipment meets regulated requirements. You are also responsible for ensuring you are licensed to drive or tow farm equipment.

The purpose of this training session is to give an overview of the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations as it applies to the agricultural industry.

The Farm Safety Nova Scotia Agricultural Road Safety Course will provide an introduction to the following general agricultural road safety topics:

• Definitions

• Laws and regulations

• Farm truck and equipment rules

• Hazards

• Hazard controls
